Internet Broadcast

Nathan Barnett is taking over the Reign microphone for the team’s second season with a broadcaster. The Pomona College graduate is the youngest ECHL broadcaster entering the 2012-13 season.

Barnett began his broadcasting career in 2010 with the Claremont Mudd Scripps athletic department. He installed a program to train and prepare other students interested in broadcasting for the school while working as the play-by-play broadcaster for Pomona-Pitzer.

In addition to calling countless games for different sports, Barnett hosted a one hour sports talk radio show on KSPC 88.7fm Claremont twice a week.

The Dallas, Texas native gained valuable broadcasting experience covering football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, and softball. In the summer of 2011 he made a full transition to baseball while calling the games for the Palm Springs POWER of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League. He provided the play-by-play and color commentary for the games.

This will be Barnett’s second season with the Reign as he joined the organization in 2011 as an inside sales representative.

Barnett stays true to his Texas roots and his favorite teams include the Texas Rangers (MLB), Dallas Stars (NHL), Dallas Mavericks (NBA), and the Florida Gators.
