LAS VEGAS, Nev.– The Ontario Reign (10-8-1-1), proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, fell 5-2 to the Las Vegas Wranglers (13-6-1-3) before 2,633 at Orleans Arena on Thursday. 

Goals by Judd Blackwater, Eric Lampe, and Ash Goldie had put the Wranglers up 3-0 before Derek Couture got the Reign on the board at 3:54 of the third period.  Geoff Irwin’s shot from the right circle hit Joe Fallon’s pad and dropped on his doorstep.  A couple of whacks by Couture finally got the puck across the goal line and cut the Wrangler lead to 3-1.

With the Reign on a power play late in the third, acting coach Mark Hardy pulled Chris Carrozzi for a 6-on-4 attack.  C.J. Stretch picked up the rebound on the side of the net and tucked it just inside the left post.  Geoff Irwin and Steven Tarasuk had assists on the play.  However, that was sandwiched between a power-play goal by Josh lunden and an empty-net goal by Chris Francis, as the Wranglers won the game, 5-2.

Carrozzi (1-3-1) was tagged with the loss behind 27 saves on 31 shots, while Fallon (10-4-4) stopped 30 of 32 in the win.
