Aeros Call Up Another Reign Player
McKenzie recalled to Houston

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, have announced that forward Mike McKenzie has been recalled to the AHL by the Houston Aeros.

McKenzie, 25, played just a few games in a Reign uniform after coming to the team from the AHL’s Houston Aeros on February 15. McKenzie scored his first and only goal with the Reign in the first game he played with the club against the Stockton Thunder.

Prior to the Reign, the Whitby, Ontario native spent equal time between the ECHL’s Florida Everblades and the Houston Aeros during the 2011-12 season. In Florida, McKenzie recorded 15 points (5g, 10a) in 19 games. With the Aeros, he tallied three points (1g, 2a) in 19 games.

During his rookie season the 6-foot, 190-pound forward split the 2010-11 season between the AHL and ECHL with the Charlotte Checkers and the Florida Everblades. In 14 games with the Checkers, McKenzie recorded a goal. With the Everblades, he earned 38 points (18g, 20a) in 55 games, finishing in second among Everblades rookies in scoring. McKenzie was named ECHL Rookie of the Month for the month of December 2010.
