Welcome to another edition of Reign Player Q & A! Center Tim Kraus is our featured player this week!
What are your plans for the offseason?
Right now I am living with my parents here in Canyon Lake, California. A good buddy and teammate of mine, Jon Rheault, is living with me right now. We carpool down to Yorba Linda every weekday for training. We train at the Barron Hockey Academy. In July, we will both probably be heading down to Newport Beach to live with a good buddy of mine who plays in the NHL. Hopefully his habits will rub off on me.
What is your favorite memory from the 2008-2009 season?
My favorite memory of this first season has to be Reign Day. It was so awesome seeing all the people from the Inland Empire walking into the building full of excitement. I was able to skate with all the kids on the ice for a few hours and get to know as many of them as I could. I could relate to a lot of them since I was a kid growing up in Southern California loving hockey.
What was the weirdest place or thing you have been asked to autograph?
I have never had to sign anything or anywhere too strange, which is a good thing. I have had numerous kids ask me to sign their foreheads and I don’t really like doing that for some reason.
What is the best prank you’ve pulled on a teammate in your career?
In junior, one of our top defensemen had already been drafted and had signed a contract with the Predators. When the Predators were having some injury problems, we left a piece of paper in his stall with the name of someone from the Predators and a number. He didn’t believe it at first until the coach joined in and told everyone to give him a hand. At that point he completely believed it and was super stoked. Then the coach said April fools. (You) should have seen his face.
What song gets you pumped up before a game?
Nothing that the guys on our team play. I prefer some quick heavy rock music to get me going. Instead we listen to "happy happy joy joy" music. Ha!
