Reign Beat Salmon Kings, 4-2


Ontario's third win against Victoria


VICTORIA, B.C. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, defeated the Victoria Salmon Kings in front of 3,829 fans at Save-On Foods Memorial Centre.  Tonight was Ontario’s third victory this season against the Salmon Kings.

Defenseman Jon Landry scored a power play goal against Victoria netminder Matt Keetley to give Ontar
io the early lead. Center Tim Kraus assisted with a great pass to Landry four minutes into the first period.

Tim Kraus extended the Reign's lead to two goals at 11:46 in the first period. Kraus scored his first goal of the season on a break away with an assist from right winger Tony Voce.

Tony Voce got his 7th goal of the season with a blast in front of the net to increase Ontario's lead to 3 10 minutes into the second period. Right winger Geoff Walker picked up an assist on the play and Tim Kraus got his second assist of the night.

Victoria right winger Wes Goldie put the puck past Ontario goaltender Curtis Darling to give Victoria their first goal of the night. Chad Painchaud and Mike Hamilton assisted on the goal at 13:40 in the second period.

The Salmon King's forward Randall Gelech scored his first goal of the season three minutes after Victoria scored their first goal of the night. Mike Hamilton picked up his 2nd assist of the night along with an assist by Olivier Latendresse and the Reign's lead was cut to one goal.

The third period went back and forth with a lot of great saves made by the two netminders this evening.The Salmon Kings pulled their netminder Keetley with more than a minute left in the third period. With eight seconds left in the game, forward Dwight King scored an empty net goal to secure the win for the Reign. Ontario took the victory with a final score of Reign 4, Salmon Kings 2.

The Reign’s next home game is on Friday, November 20 at 7:30 pm against the Stockton Thunder.  It’s Farmer John Friday with 2-for-1 hot dogs all night long, so be sure to come hungry.  Also, all fans in attendance will receive a FREE oil change, compliments of Certified Transmission & Car Care.  
 
Mark your calendars for our next specialty jersey night, brought to you by the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley!  On Saturday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m., Ontario will take on the Stockton Thunder.  Reign players will be wearing special one-of-a-kind jerseys with paw prints on them, so don't miss this post-game live auction.  The proceeds will benefit animals cared for by the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley.  Immediately following the post-game jersey auction, the Reign players will be on hand at Boston's Restaurant (4th & Milliken) for our first post-game player party.  Come out and meet your Ontario Reign!
