Reign Dropped By Wranglers, 5-2

Tim Kraus Nets Two Goals

– The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, was defeated by the Las Vegas Wranglers, 5-2, on Thursday evening in front of 4,149 fans at Orleans Arena.

Ontario was first on the board when center Tim Kraus scored a power play goal against Las Vegas goaltender Jimmy Spratt at 6:13 in the first period.  Right wing Geoff Walker and forward Greg Hogeboom picked up the assists on the play and gave the Reign a 1-0 lead.  The Wranglers tied the game at 10:53 when center Adam Miller scored an unassisted power play goal on Ontario netminder Curtis Darling.

Las Vegas took the lead a little over a minute after their first goal of the night when left wing Ned Lukacevic scored a power play goal.  Defenseman Mike Madill picked up an assist and Adam Miller picked up his second point in the game.

The Reign tied the score at 2-2 when Tim Kraus scored his second goal of the night.   Defenseman Luis Tremblay and right wing Jon Rheault assisted on the goal at 16:09 in the first.

With less than a second left on the scoreboard in the second period, Lukacevic scored his second goal of the night.  Forward Ryan Weston started the play off with a pass through the goal crease to Lukacevic who then shot the puck past Darling.

In the third period, Ned Lukacevic gave the Wranglers a two goal lead when he scored his second power play goal in the game and picked up his first hat trick this season.  Lukacevic went top shelf over Curtis Darling at 10:41.

The Reign pulled Curtis Darling with about a minute left in the game for an extra attacker but could not capitalize.  Wranglers forward Andrew Orpik found Ontario’s empty net and Las Vegas went on to win the game with a final score of Wranglers 5, Reign 2.
