Reign Make Comeback to Beat Everblades; Advance to Final 4
Reign Advance to Final 4 in The Hockey News Logo Contest; Voting Ends Sept. 29
ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign of the ECHL, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarc hs, have defeated ECHL contender Florida Everblades to advance to the Final 4 in The Hockey News Logo Contest. The Hockey News, a publication that provides complete coverage of the hockey world, is nearing the end of a two-month Ultimate Logo contest that matches teams against each other to determine the best hockey logo in North America.
The Florida Everblades took an early lead over the Reign in the Elite 8 matchup, but the Reign made a strong comeback and overcame the ‘Blades with a 52% to 48% victory. The Reign will now take on the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL who also made a huge comeback to edge out the favored NHL Chicago Blackhawks.
The winner of the Final 4 matchup between the Reign and Oceanic will go head-to-head with the victor of the Canadiens versus Red Wings in the final round of competition.
The Reign are making their way to the finals of the 2008 THN Logo Contest and need fans help to get there! Voting for the Final 4 ends at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29. Vote often to help the Reign logo become #1 in North America as they enter in to their 2008-09 inaugural season!

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier ‘AA’ Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 23 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 828 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.
The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
