Darcy Kuemper Recalled by Minnesota Wild
May Suit Up Against Ducks Tonight

Ontario, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, announced that rookie goaltender Darcy Kuemper has been recalled by the Minnesota Wild and may be in uniform tonight when the Wild face the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center. Kuemper was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round, number 161 overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.

Kuemper, 21, has a 4-0-0 record this season with the Reign and a 6-1-0 mark in eight professional appearances. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native is second in the ECHL with a 1.47 goals-against average and ranks third in save percentage (.941).

The 6-foot-4 netminder stopped nine of eleven Stockton shootout attempts to win his Reign debut, 3-2. He allowed only one goal in each of his last two starts.

Last season, Kuemper led all WHL goaltenders in wins (45), goals-against average (1.86), and save percentage (.933) with the Red Deer Rebels. His 13 shutouts tied the WHL record. At the CHL's 2010-11 Awards Banquet, Kuemper took home the PertPLUS Goaltender of the Year Award.
