Most Successful Reign Gala to Date
Reign raise money for Loma Linda University Children's Hospital
ONTARIO, Calif.- Sunday night the Ontario Reign hosted their fourth annual post-season gala to benefit the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
With more than 200 in attendance, the evening was a huge success raising more than $24,000 for the Children’s Hospital thanks to the support and generosity of the Doubletree by Hilton Claremont, Nestle, and Arrowhead Water.
Team president, Justin Kemp, spoke to the audience about the successes of the organization this season including clinching their second Pacific Division title in just four seasons, receiving the third consecutive All-ECHL Attendance Award with an average of 6,309 fans per game, and the individual accomplishments of Jason Fredricks as the ECHL Community Service Award recipient and head coach Jason Christie who was named to the All-ECHL Second Team. Coach Christie was also given an award on behalf of the organization for a season of excellence in his first year with the team. The entire Ontario Reign team was given a standing ovation by the crowd to honor their hard work and dedication to their franchise-high 43-21-5-3 record this season.
Kemp also honored the Reign's PA announcer, Jeff Pope, for his dedication and enthusiasm toward the team and organization since opening day in 2008. Dr. Frank Finazzo, a partnering sponsor since the inaugural season with Winning Smiles, was recognized with an award for a season of excellence.
Members of the Reign front office were also recognized as Laura Tolbirt, director of public/corporate/community relations, James Collins, vice-president of ticket sales/services, and Jasmyn Wilson, director of ticket operations, were all presented with Season of Excellence awards on behalf of the organization.
