ONTARIO - The Reign established an offensive identity as a proficient power-play team early in their inaugural season. So much so that, of the team's first 40 goals, 23 came with a man advantage, an almost unheard-of 57.5 percent.

Against their will, that identity has changed. The Reign have just one power-play goal in their last five games, a span of 30 man-advantage shifts. Rekindling their early success hinges first and foremost on the team's defensemen, none of whom is considered an offensive-oriented player.
