Kings Announcement Hockey Fest Tickets

LOS ANGELES – Four special Speakers Series – Welcome to LA, Kids Press Conference, Hockey Operations and Enforcers -- were announced today by the Kings to complete the special seven Speakers Series for LA Kings Hockey Fest ’09, the new three-day interactive festival celebrating the Kings and the game of hockey from August 28-30 at LA Live in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.

These four sessions compliment the three previous announced ones – Triple Crown Line re-unites, NHL Experts Panel and Bob Miller’s One Man Show -- to complete the highly-anticipated seven Speakers Series program.  The schedule is below.

In addition, the Kings today announced that individual day Hockey Fest tickets are available and will go on sale tomorrow, Saturday, August 1, beginning at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster outlets.  Tickets for Saturday and Sunday cost $27 each while a ticket for Friday costs $37.

Here is a closer look at all of the Speakers Series:

Welcome to LA – Veterans Ryan Smyth and Rob Scuderi, who were acquired by the Kings in July, and Justin Williams, who was acquired by the Kings in February, will be introduced to fans at Hockey Fest and will take part in this special “getting to know the new Kings” program.

Kids Press Conference – Young hockey fans will get the opportunity to ask players questions directly in the club’s first ever kids-only “press conference.”  Anze Kopitar, Matt Greene, Wayne Simmonds and Teddy Purcell are slated to participate.

Kings Hockey Operations – Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi, Head Coach Terry Murray and Vice President/Assistant General Manager Ron Hextall will be available for fans to ask questions as they preview the upcoming 2009-10 Kings/NHL season.

The Enforcers – One of the most unique jobs in sports, tough guys talk about their tough on-ice role as part of this event.  Stu Grimson returns to Southern California to headline this special panel, which will be announced in full prior to the start of Hockey Fest ‘09.

As previously announced, LA Kings Hockey Fest ’09 will also feature the re-unification of the famed “Triple Crown Line” of Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne, Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer; Bob Miller’s One Man Show; and an NHL Experts Panel featuring Kelly Hrudey, Ray Ferraro and Jim Fox.

Additionally, 17 prestigious NHL Trophies will be on display; the StreetLA by TeamLA hockey tournament will take place; and ESPN anchor/ESPN.com columnist John Buccigross will serve as the official host.  All participants are subject to change.

Three-day tickets for LA Kings Hockey Fest ’09 – the largest event hosted by the Kings since the 2002 NHL All-Star Game -- are also currently on-sale and cost $60.  Tickets for kids five years of age and under are free.  Discounted tickets for groups are also available, and parking for the event costs $8 per day with parking for all three days available for $15.

The Kings also today unveiled the third in a special five-part series of “Hockey Fest Special Video Reports” by Kings defenseman Matt Greene.  To date, Greene has given a unique take on the Triple Crown Line and NHL trophies, and how he focus on event host John Buccigross.  To view, click http://kings.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?catid=731&id=45077.  Check back soon to see Greene discuss the role of an Enforcer and the 2009-10 Kings attending Hockey Fest.

Next week, the Kings expect to announce the musical act for LA Kings Hockey Fest ’09.
