The Reign won their fifth consecutive road game and second overall Saturday, beating the Utah Grizzlies, 3-2, on Jeff Corey's overtime goal.
Goals by Aaron Lewadniuk and Dusty Collins staked the Reign (8-11-0-1) to a 2-0 lead midway through the second period. The Grizzlies (11-6-3-1) came back to tie on goals by Matt Clarke and Nick Tuzzolino, the latter coming with 5:00 left in the third period.
Corey scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season at 1:34 of overtime off David Walker's second assist of the game.
Kellen Briggs started his 18th consecutive game in goal and made 37 saves as the Reign were outshot 39-24.
With the win, the Reign matched the Bakersfield Condors at 17 points in the Pacific Division standings, closing the gap on the first-place Stockton Thunder to nine points.
The Reign host the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
