The LA Kings announced the following player transactions Tuesday afternoon:

  • Forward Alex Turcotte has been recalled to the Kings from his conditioning loan. Additionally, he has been activated from long-term injured reserve (LTIR).

Thomas appeared in seven games with the Kings since being recalled to the NHL for the first time during his professional career on Mar. 31. He scored his first NHL goal in his second appearance Apr. 4 at San Jose and totaled four points in seven contests on three goals and one assist.

The 24-year-old had registered 43 points (22-21=43) in 61 games with the Reign this season, setting career highs in goals, assists and points. He is one of three Reign skaters to hit the 20-goal mark this season while his 43 points are fourth-most on the team. The 6-0, 195-pound forward had recently earned the AHL Player of the Week honor on Mar. 24, a week before his recall, notching four goals, two assists and a plus-6 rating while recording all three game-winning goals during a perfect 3-0-0 week for the Reign.

Originally selected by the Kings in the second round (51st overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft, Thomas has skated in 154 career games across four seasons with Ontario, accumulating 46 goals and 44 assists for 90 points (46-44=90).

Turcotte, 23, has skated in 33 games with Ontario Reign this season, registering seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points (7-18=25) with a plus-7 rating. He has also seen action in 20 contests with the Kings during 2023-24, posting four points with his firs-career NHL goal and three assists along with a plus-5 rating.

Drafted fifth overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, Turcotte has appeared in 32 NHL contests in his career with the Kings after making his debut during the 2021-22 campaign. The 5-11, 185-pound forward has posted 81 points (25-56=81) with 70 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-25 rating in 124 career AHL games.

The Reign return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Bakersfield to take on the Condors at 6:30 p.m. inside Mechanics Bank Arena.
