Reign Sign Forward Quinn Olson for 2024-25
The Ontario Reign, proud AHL affiliate of the LA Kings, have signed forward Quinn Olson to an AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.
Olson, 23, finished the 2023-24 campaign with Ontario after signing a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the team on May 14 prior to the start of the Pacific Division Finals. Olson also signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Reign on Apr. 6 after completing his collegiate career and made his professional debut that week against the San Diego Gulls at Toyota Arena.
Olson also got experience in the postseason by playing six playoff games with the Reign's ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, during their first round series in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Olson tied for third on the team in scoring during the series with four points on two goals and two assists.
The Calgary, Alta. native spent five seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth men's hockey team from 2019-24. Last year as a senior, Olson appeared in 37 NCAA games and registered 21 points (4-17=21) while serving as an alternate captain for a second consecutive campaign.
Olson totaled 175 career games with the Bulldogs and hit the 20-point mark three times, ending with 96 points on 27 goals and 69 assists. He was also part of two NCAA Tournament appearances with UMD in 2021 and 2022 and helped capture an NCHC Tournament Championship during 2021-22.
The 6-foot, 180-pound attacker joins veteran forwards Charles Hudon and Jacob Doty as well as defender Jack Millar as players the Reign have under AHL contract for 2024-25.
